Four goals I hope to achieve throughout this class in order of 1 being the most important would be:
1.) To get a thorough understanding of what it's like working in a position dealing with addiction.
2.) To get a better understanding of methadone and how it's used in treatment in a healthy manner.
3.) To work more hands on with treatment plans and progress notes so I have a better understanding of both.
4.) To shadow counselors and see first hand what their job all consists of.
All of these goals are important to me and I believe are important for me to learn throughout this experience. It's also nice to be able to discuss with other students in the class where they are interning at so I can learn from their experiences as well.
The best thing that happened to me this week was actually getting in touch with my supervisor for my internship at Wausau Health Services. This is the second week of class and I still haven't been able to log any hours yet. I have a meeting with her this Friday to discuss my schedule further so I will have a better idea of how many hours a week I will be working.
This is also my main concern. I really worry I won't be able to finish all of my hours on time. I want to put in 150 hours because of the new program coming about as well. I work a full time job on top of putting in my intern hours and trying to work the two together is difficult. The internship is mostly mornings which I can do, but I'm not sure I can put enough hours in weekly to fulfill my total amount of hours by the end of class.

How I'm feeling about Field 1 this week
After reading all the requirements for field experience 1 and listening to the videos for this week, I have to admit I'm slightly nervous of how this is all going to unfold. It seems like a lot of work on top of completing all of my hours within 8 weeks. The thing I'm most nervous about would be making sure I'm able to complete all of my hours in on time. I work a full time job on top of adding an internship to my schedule. I have a positive attitude going into this knowing it will be hard and also test my ability to be able to work in this field. I'm excited to learn more about my field placement and what they all have to offer. I have everything set up with my field placement with Wausua Health Services and hope to start working next week. As for one new thing I learned this week would be how to create a blog and be able to customize it to my liking and style! This is my first time blogging and I'm still getting used to how this works, honestly learning something new each time I log on lol! :) Saving the best for last.... something good that happened to me this week.... I was able to spend some time with my family Tuesday evening for my little cousins birthday. I don't get to see my family much and truly enjoy the time I do get to spend with them!
